  NARRATION DIRECT & INDIRECT SPEECH There are two ways of narrating events or story telling- direct speech and indirect speech. In Direct speech the exact remarks or the speech of the narrator is presented by using the exact words or expression of the narrator.   In Indirect speech the exact meaning of the remark or the speech is presented without using the narrator’s exact words.
